One way to see if an advisor is really looking out for you is to research fees and see if the sell commssioned products. We have created a list of a number of firms showing fee and fiduciary information from their SEC-filed Form ADV (adviserinfo.sec.gov). We have also used the resources of Dimensional Funds to find a few firms that charge reasonable fees and appear to offer advice similar to ours.
